Obituary of Verlie Wilson

On Saturday, April 14, 2007; the soul of Mrs. Verlie Mae McGill Wilson passed into eternal life. She devoted her life to her family and friends and will always be remembered for her gentle, loving and sweet ways. Mrs. Verlie Mae McGill Wilson was born in Williamsburg County on July 12, 1943, the devoted daughter of the late Mr. Weaver McGill and Mrs. Margaret Singletary McGill. Mrs. Verlie Mae McGill Wilson attended the Public School of Williamsburg County and graduated from Tomlinson High School in 1961. She attended Morris College in Sumter, SC. She and Durant "JT" Wilson have been married for forty (40) years. She was employed at Art Craft Optical Company for over thirty-five (35) years. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband, Mr. Durant "JT" Wilson, two step-sons Kevin Graham (Tokeya) and Karl Hunter (Dr. Sakinah) four grandchildren: four brothers, Norman McGill (Lillie) of Kingstree, SC: Eric Leroy McGill; and Reynold Carlton McGill of Rochester, NY and Troy McGill (Brenda) of Greensboro, NC. Seven brother-in-laws, Haddick Wilson (Mary), William Wilson (Barbara), Joseph Wilson (Margaret), Perry Wilson (Jerry Mae), Willard Wilson (Annette), Willmore Wilson, and Tony Wilson (Arlene) all of Rochester, NY. Two Sister-in-laws; Nell Moyd (Acie) and Hattie Henderson (Lee) of Rochester, NY. Five Uncles, Manzy Fulmore of Baltimore, MD; Marvin Singletary (Van) of Soperton, GA; Marion Johnson (Helen) of Florence, SC; James Johnson (Chetta Ruth) of Rochester, NY; and Leroy Johnson (Margaret) of Florence, SC. Aunts: Elizabeth Lightly, Mary Rhodes, Bertha Lee Dukes and Ethel Singletary of Florence, SC, and Lillie Mae Tisdale of Kingstree, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Interment, Falls Cemetery.
